COSlaw.eu is the information platform on European cosmetics law. Our goal is to provide all relevant information on a single platform. We enable our visitors to be informed about regulatory changes in advance, to make sure they are always compliant with the EU legislation on cosmetics.

COSlaw is the tool to meet the needs of the cosmetics industry & its consumers by proposing to be curious, aware and cautious of different aspects of cosmetics through:

COSlaw is a project powered by Obelis Group, one of the largest centers in Europe for EU Responsible Persons. Obelis Group is co-founder of the European Responsible Person Association (ERPA), and a member of the EU Associations and EU Commission working groups.

COSlaw Team

 

The COSlaw Team is composed of dedicated consultants working in the Publications department at Obelis Group. The Team is in charge of continuous monitoring of regulatory developments, analyzing, editing and creating content as well as collecting documents for the platform under the supervision of Ajda Mihelčič, Manager of the Publications department.

Francesca Santacatterina

Francesca Santacatterina is COSlaw Content Manager since autumn 2023 and an Expert Consultant in the Regulatory Intelligence & Innovation Department at Obelis Group, where she is taking care of cosmetics regulatory research.

Francesca holds a Master’s degree in Law with a specialization in European Union Law from the University of Trento. She has gained educational and professional experience in Italy, Poland, and Russia. Then, she moved to Belgium to work in the heart of the EU.

She is passionate about writing and international relations.

 

Ajda Mihelčič

Ajda Mihelčič joined Obelis Regulatory department in 2017 to assist clients through the EU compliance process. She has been managing the Publications department since 2019, supervising all regulatory content externally published, and ensuring timely circulation of regulatory developments.

Ajda holds a law degree from the University of Ljubljana and an Advanced Master’s degree from Saint-Louis University of Brussels. She has been gathering experiences at the European institutions, in the international judiciary and in the non-governmental branch. Regulatory affairs were her main focus in the past years, while managing the Information Platforms COSlaw.eu and MDlaw.eu. Ajda is chairing the Editorial Committee.

Ajda is native Slovenian with fluency in English and French, and is improving her Italian. She is passionate about EU law, knowledge sharing and firmly believes in the European project.

 

Simona Varrella

Simona Varrella is an Expert Consultant in the Regulatory Intelligence & Innovation Department at Obelis Group.

Simona holds a bachelor degree in linguistics and a master in multilingual educational linguistics. In her university career, she studied at the University of Naples L’Orientale, University of Heidelberg, University of Vaasa, and University of Hamburg.

She has experience in editing, translation, and editorial research in four different EU countries and cultivates a vivid interest in communications, writing, and politics. Simona is fluent in English, German, and Italian and is improving her French and Spanish.

MS

Dr. Mark Smith

Dr. Mark Smith graduated with a M.Chem (Hons.) degree in chemistry and an interdisciplinary PhD. between chemistry and genetics. Before joining NATRUE in June 2014, Dr. Smith worked in research with two positions covering biotechnology (Leeds, UK) and the pharmaceuticals (Montréal, Canada). Dr. Smith became Director General of NATRUE in July 2016 where his is responsible for the day-to-day running of NATRUE, as well as taking a lead role in all political, regulatory and scientific affairs of the association.

Luminita Pascanu

Luminita Pascanu received a MSc in Applied Social Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands and a BA in International Communication and Management from the International University in Germany.

With her communication and management background and her practical experience in the regulatory field accumulated in the last 8 years, Luminita holds a Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Senior Consultant position at Obelis.

Geoff Waby

Geoff Waby has more than 35 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs covering OTC drugs and cosmetics. He was the quality assurance lead for Procter & Gamble in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, before holding the same role for Estée Lauder, firstly in Europe, followed by North America. He served on committees with Cosmetics Europe and is an active member of the Personal Care Products Council.

He is co-chair of the PCPC Manufacturing Hygiene task force and an adjunct instructor in the James L Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati. Geoff is an expert in the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulations Act, 2022.

Yiannis Kapetanstratakis

Yiannis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Patras, Greece. After studying Forensic Science at Strathclyde University Glasgow, UK, he joined QACS Laboratories in 2012.

He served and gained knowledge in the Microbiological and Stability laboratories and then moved to Risk Assessment. He is heading the Services department, Safety Assessment and Efficacy Testing of Cosmetic Products. He is a Key Account Manager for a number of clients.

Yiannis is member of the Hellenic and Belgian Societies of Toxicology and the Forensic Science Society. He is also an elected Board Member of the Greek Society of Cosmetology.
